HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A community event that combines German and European tradition is coming back to Huntsville just in time for the holidays. Arts Huntsville and The Orion Amphitheater announced the return of Christkindlmarket Huntsville, a free community event. This year's event will feature a holiday shopping experience with over 60 juried artists featured alongside holiday food, drink, and music at The Orion Amphitheater on December 8, 9 and 10. People can find handcrafted ornaments, decorations, jewelry, and apparel.
“We are delighted to bring back this Holiday tradition Christkindlmarket Huntsville for the second year,” Arts Huntsville Executive Director Allison Dillon-Jauken said. “Christkindlmarket Huntsville is a wonderful way to experience the holiday season and support the arts and local arts community.”
Christkindlmarket Huntsville kicks off with the Little German Band and live holiday music performed by local artists throughout the weekend, including Winslow Davis, Alex D. Banks II, Karmessa and Micah, and more.
“We are thrilled to partner with Arts Huntsville for Christkindlmarket Huntsville again,” Orion Amphitheater Cultural Events Manager Laina Weldon stated. "Christkindlmarket is a great addition to our calendar of events, and we are sure that our guests will enjoy this unique holiday experience.”
The event will be open to the community from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8. On Saturday. Dec. 9 it will run from noon to 8 p.m. on and wrap up on Sunday, Dec. 10 from noon to 5 p.m. The market will have free onsite parking and feature German-themed holiday food and drinks from The Orion's specialty bars and the Church Street Test Kitchen.
