‘Clean Home Alabama’ clean-up projects kick off

It’s time to take pride in where you live with the state-wide project ‘Clean Home Alabama.’

It’s time to take pride in where you live with the state-wide project ‘Clean Home Alabama.’

Calhoun Community College is hosting events in Madison and Morgan Counties. Their clean-ups are some of more than 60 projects across the state led by the Alabama Community College System as part of the bicentennial celebration.

Those who took part in the cleanup project in the Dry Creek area Monday say they’re fighting against litter, helping tourism, and making Alabama a better place to live.

“It’s important to clean Decatur and keep it nice for anybody traveling through or anything and also it’s a great opportunity for us,” said Calhoun student Trace Lentz. “Not everybody gets to come out and make Decatur a better place. We enjoy being able to do this.”
