HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Schools in the North Alabama area have announced delays due to inclement weather expected in the early morning hours on January 9. The Emergency Management Administration is predicting the possibility of severe weather, high winds, and power outages in our area.

  • Cullman County Schools - 2 hour delay
  • DeKalb County Schools -  E-learning Day
  • Etowah County Schools - 2 hour delay
  • Fort Payne City Schools - 2 hour delay (buses, 2.5-hour delay)
  • Gadsden City Schools - 2 hour delay
  • Jackson County Schools - 2 hour delay
  • Marshall County Schools - 2 hour delay
  • Scottsboro City Schools - 2 hour delay
  • Wallace State Community College - Opening 10 a.m.
  • Northwest Shoals Community College Phil Campbell Campus  -  Closed

Remain weather aware throughout the night and into Tuesday morning; heavy rains could lead to flooding situations, and high winds increase the chances of downed power lines, trash bins, and other debris along roadways.
