HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — CNI Solutions is making sure kids can head into the upcoming school year looking fresh with a new hairstyle for free.
"Growing up in the underserved community myself, it meant a lot to be able to at least get my hair cut, you know when I was going back to school," said CNI Solutions President Chris Frye.
Kids in grades 6 through 12 will be able to choose between ten different hairstyles. So far, around 100 students have signed up for the event. Thirteen braiders are volunteering their time and skills and local beauty supply stores are supplying materials.
"We have been preparing for this for a while now," said Frye. " We came up with doing something for the children whereas we can help with hairstyles because a lot of times, your hair makes you who you are."
Those who want to attend this event must reserve their spot online. Frye said spots are going fast. CNI Solutions is also feeding each child at the event homemade barbeque when they get their hair done.
