LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — The Limestone County coroner is awaiting dental records to help identify the remains of two people killed in a fiery three-vehicle wreck Friday night on I-65, north of the I-565 interchange
The crash happened when a car ran into the back of a pickup truck pulling a trailer. The third vehicle -- a UHaul truck -- struck the car, causing a fire.
The two people who died were inside the car, Coroner Mike West told FOX54.
The late-afternoon accident shut down southbound travel on I-65 for hours.
The drivers of the pickup truck and the UHaul were not injured.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is leading the investigation.
