HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Cosmo enjoyed a breakfast from the early spring bowl on Friday morning! Huntsville Animal Services hosted the third annual 'Ground Dog Day,' during which Cosmo predicted an early spring. Mayor Tommy Battle and Animal Services Interim Director Virgie Graham were also at the event, talking about the importance of adopting and fostering shelter animals. Huntsville Animal Services has waived adoption fees for most adult dogs throughout the week.
On this Groundhog Day, Punxsutawney Phil also predicted an early spring when he did not see his shadow. In Sardis City, a possum named Sand Mountain Sam made a similar prediction for an early spring after not seeing his shadow.
