HUNTSVILLE, Ala — Crestwood Medical Center Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Matthew Banks said this is a week to celebrate both hospital week and all of Crestwood's caregivers and nurses. "My heart is so full and thankful for each of them. We're just excited. I'm so proud of the people who come together really to do the Lord's work here at Crestwood and do what's right for people."
Crestwood Medical Center's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Lance Eiland stated that it was very important they take this time out to show appreciation for their staff. "To recognize these nurses that show their kindness and compassion to our all of our patients here at Crestwood, and we just want to thank them for all they do."
Our hospitals can not survive without nurses. So, what is the current status of nurses returning back to work post pandemic? "We are seeing a return back to the workforce since the pandemic." Crestwood is also offering other types of shifts that are more comfortable for the nurses and their families, Eiland explained. "We're just working with everyone's schedule to kind of say to do what the best we can do for for for our staff."
Burnout and feelings of frequent tiredness can also be another very real emotion that comes with nursing. Eiland said this is also what they're doing to assist in preventing that. "We work with with the nurses on their schedules. We make sure they're scheduling their days apart and they've got the time off. they need to spend time with their family."
