Crestwood Spreads Love: 3,200+ jars in Peanut Butter Drive

The 'Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive' delivered over 3,200 jars of peanut butter to the Food Bank of North Alabama, addressing local hunger concerns.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Crestwood Medical Center's "Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive" collected over 3,200 jars of peanut butter to donate to those in need. This donation by Crestwood’s employees, medical staff members, and supporters aims to address the issue of hunger in the local community, with all contributions handed over to the Food Bank of North Alabama.

Matthew Banks, CEO of Crestwood Medical Center, expressed pride in the community's efforts, stating, "You know Crestwood has great care on the inside, but demonstrating continued support for our community and especially those families that are hungry. You need that opportunity. But we're able today to touch over 3200 families that may not have this opportunity in our community today."

Bobby Bozeman, Director of Development at the Food Bank of North Alabama, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the impact of the donation: "This is going to have an incredible impact. There's going to be 3200 jars of peanut butter going out to the community. That's you know, one family gets one jar, peanut butter. That's 3200 families that are going to be able to stretch their budget a little further."

According to the Food Bank of North Alabama, nearly 60,000 parents report instances of food insecurity among their children. The "Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive" was launched to provide support for families facing hunger. Peanut butter, known for its nutritional value and long shelf life, is among the most requested items by food banks. The Food Bank of North Alabama also needs other essential items such as canned meats, vegetables, soups, and paper products.
