MADISON, Ala. — A crossing guard was hit by a car around 7:30 a.m. Friday near West Madison Pre-K on Wall Triana Highway in Madison. Madison Police say Terri Perdue was wearing a yellow high-visibility jacket and gloves when the accident happened.
According to Don Webster with HEMSI, Perdue was taken to the hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.
The Madison Police and Fire Departments responded to the collision. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the preliminary investigation.
Wall Triana Highway was temporarily closed during the investigation but has since reopened to the public.
