The accident happened near Oster Drive after 4:30 p.m. and it is still unclear what caused it.

Gurley leaves behind two kids, an 18-year-old named Austin Gurley and a 7-year-old named Lincoln Gurley. He worked in construction for the city of Huntsville and frequently rode his bike on University Drive. His family says he enjoyed history, astronomy and sports. “He was wonderful. He was a big football fan, Tennessee. He cared a lot about his kids," Brandy Gurley said.

Gurley’s family has asked the community to get involved. If you want to help, Joshua's niece, Jasmine Moseley, started a GoFundMe. The money raised will help pay for his body to be moved from Alabama to Tennessee where he will be laid to rest. His sister, Brandy Gurley says the donations will also be used to help with his two sons.
