DECATUR, Ala. — Decatur Fire & Rescue battled a fire at Nova Chemicals on Tuesday afternoon after one of the machines caught fire.
Authorities confirm that there were no injuries and everyone inside the building was safely evacuated.
According to Decatur Fire & Rescue, the safety mechanism worked effectively, keeping the fire contained. FOX54 was on the scene and reported that employees have since returned to work.
Nova Chemicals operates in several industries, including manufacturing, resin production, synthetic rubber, and the manufacturing of artificial and synthetic fibers and filaments.
