The Brewer High School student was detained Thursday morning after other students brought their concerns to school staff. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office spokesman says deputies arrived within minutes of the alleged threat being reported.
“The message for parents is, number one, we are safe and secure at Brewer High School,” said Mike Swafford. “The real story is prevention. At this moment if this turns out to be a credible threat the ultimate outcome is it was prevented.”
Extra officers were at the school Thursday to reassure the community. Everyone is encouraged to follow the saying ‘see something, say something’ and report any concerns.
A threat was also investigated at Huntsville High School Thursday.
