HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Design Week Huntsville will return to the city from April 12 to April 16.

The multifaceted, weeklong event series aims to unite design professionals, interior designers, architects, students, agencies, print shops and the public to help promote design within Huntsville.

The free event will be held at various locations throughout the city. In addition to being in-person, all sessions will be live-streamed on Facebook.

For those attending in-person, masks will be required and social distancing will be encouraged. Experts from across the state will cover topics ranging from website and graphic design to mural art, interior design and more.

Design Week Huntsville has partnered with multiple schools in North Alabama for this event, including the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Athens State University, Calhoun Community College and Oakwood University.

“We have so much rich talent here, both from an organization and a learning capacity,” said Design Week Huntsville Co-Founder Lauren Gowins. “Local area students aren’t aware of the opportunities and the design community in our own backyard and sometimes feel the need to look elsewhere when looking for employment. This event will introduce them to the design community here in Huntsville with the intent of developing a resourceful network they can become part of.”
