New development in Lowe Mill bringing residents closer to the future Sky Bridge

The Gallery is a 170-unit multi family property steps away from the Lowe Mill district.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Residents in Huntsville can now be a step away from what Lowe Mill has to offer. "I think the progress that the Hudson family has made with the, you know, the Lowe Mill district itself being such a large, you know, arts and crafts and maker area itself was extremely attractive," said Sam Yeager, a Huntsville native and Co-Founder of Bristol Development Group. " We were very much attracted one were attracted to the growth of Huntsville. We think Huntsville has excellent leadership and it's attracting good high paying jobs, and it has a can-do area where people, when they see something that they think needs to be done, they get it done."

The Gallery, a nearly $25 million, 107-unit apartment community located at 9th and Seminole, is now ready for move-ins. The community will offer residents a mixture of amenities while also putting them right in the middle of everything Lowe Mill and Downtown Huntsville has to offer. " We got a dog spa. We have a yoga room. We have a makerspace in there which is filled with wrapping paper and all kinds of things like that. We have a state-of-the-art techno gym that's got all the weightlifting equipment and the exercise equipment you could want," Yeager shares. "We have a sky lounge overlooking Lowe Mill and the mountain in the background. We think it's a wonderful addition to Huntsville, the kaleidoscope of places to live in Huntsville."

The development also brings residents closer to another development Yager didn't see coming. "I can't say that we knew that the city was going to build the Skybridge to basically across the street from us when we started it," Yeager explains. "But we knew that there were big things in store for the city. The city launched initiatives to do a lot of building just on the governor's drive, so we're excited about all that."

The development, a pedestrian and bike access bridge named " Skybridge" that will connect to downtown from across Memorial Parkway. Construction should begin this year on the pedestrian access and redevelopment corridor, or PARC. The project will connect Downtown and the Medical District to developing areas across Memorial Parkway through additional recreational space like greenways, improvements to Pinhook Creek, and a planned pedestrian and bike bridge that will begin less than a block from The Gallery.

"I think it'll be an excellent amenity. I mean, you'll be able to walk from downtown over the parkway and go to the Lowe Mill area. I think it can't be anything but an absolute positive for the community," Yeager shares. "You know, growing up in Huntsville, I know somehow the parkway has been a difficult thing to get across. You know, if you want to walk or ride a bicycle but this will enable people to take advantage of all the amenities and the new developments in downtown Huntsville."

Yeager goes on to point out another feature that will help protect the infrastructure of the area. "I think the and as big a deal as the bridge itself is, the water park and what they're going to be doing to be accomplish flood control is also going to make it a much more beautiful water amenity.  I mean, it's just helping out in all sorts of ways."

Mayor Battle and other city officials will join Bristol Development Group for a ribbon cutting at The Gallery on March 25th at 2pm.
