Iconic Disney characters are coming to the VBC this weekend... and they'll be served on ice

Disney on Ice is making a stop in Huntsville for their show "Into the Magic."

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Disney has been a staple in many homes over the years, but having the chance to portray one of your favorite characters is a dream come true. "It's honestly one of the greatest experiences that you can have to just perform for all of these kids who are looking up at you as such aww," said Larkyn Austman, principal skater who portrays "Elsa" in Disney on Ice. "I have been a skater my entire life. Both of my parents were skaters as well and so, naturally, I just fell onto the ice."

Disney On Ice presents "Into the Magic" with favorite characters making appearances. Belle explores the Beast's enchanted castle,  Moana embarks on a voyage with demigod Maui to save her island, and Coco's Miguel follows the music in his heart. Travel with Ana and Elsa to North Mountain to stop the eternal winter, and watch Rapunzel and Flynn go to great lengths to make her dream come true.

Performing as an iconic character may be fun, but seeing the joy on the children's face is priceless for Austman. "Seeing these kids and seeing all of their smiling faces, it's such a treat. To see all these kids because we were so isolated from everyone during COVID and then to bring back live entertainment is really special, especially for these kids who may not necessarily have seen live entertainment before and to see Disney on Ice is pretty amazing."

You can find more information on the show, plus purchase tickets through the Von Braun website.
