While they may be prepping for their opening weekend, they know not everyone will be celebrating. "Watching the horrific things that are happening online and on the news with the hurricane and the storm damage, we just wanted to do something to help any way that we could," said Hannah Riley, Owner of Doomsday Haunted Attraction. "We definitely feel a strong need to be a supportive part to help our friends in Tennessee, in North Carolina," said Eric Riley, Owner of Doomsday Haunted Attraction.
It all took off after a Facebook post they made regarding donations to help the storm-ravaged south. "It wasn't long before other haunted houses started calling us and want to partner up," Eric said, "Other states have started doing similar things and trying to team up to do these care packages, which is, I think, a wonderful thing."
They'll be accepting donations through Mid-November. "We'll all get together and do a big convoy all the way up to the Carolinas, wherever we need to go with all those donations," said Hannah. "We'll take as many trucks and trailers as we have to to get them up there," said Eric.
After seeing the images of the true damage Hurricane Helene left, the decision to dive into volunteering was an easy one. Eric said, "When there's a disaster, we need to help each other as Americans."
