LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — UPDATE (6/5): The funeral for 83-year-old Willard Norton will be at the Jackson Memory Funeral Home on Main Street in Town Creek on Thursday at 1 p.m. There will be a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
(6/3): A man is dead after two dogs attacked him on Sunday. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office say that 83-year-old Willard Norton was attacked by two dogs suspected to be pit bulls.
Upon arrival, LCSO say they Norton was receiving medical treatment and unresponsive near his front door. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Norton died from his injuries.
Following the incident, animal control took the dogs to the Lawrence County Animal Shelter. The investigation is ongoing.
