HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — UPDATE: The Drive Eletric Alabama EV showcase that was to be held on Saturday has been canceled due to inclement weather.

Have you ever seen an electric vehicle up close? Drive Electric Alabama will host a free EV showcase as part of National Drive Electric Week.

The showcase will be a place for people to learn more about electric vehicles and what it's like to drive one. Owners of the vehicles at the event will be open to questions also if you want to learn more about their car.

“Most Alabamians haven’t ever driven an EV or ridden in one,” said Casey Foster, executive director of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, which helped coordinate Saturday’s event. “That’s why talking to EV owners about their personal experience of driving electric every day is so powerful. You can ask the questions you have and get an answer from someone who understands how their EV performs every day.”

And you don't have to worry about this becoming a Tesla fest; multiple car manufacturers will be represented at the event.

The event can be found near the Telsa chargers in MidCity, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. MidCity is located at 5909 University Dr., Huntsville, AL 35806.

Looking for a place to also charge up your EV also? Some of the most popular places in Huntsville have electric vehicle friendly places to charge at.

That list includes places like the before mentioned MidCity District, the US Space and Rocket Center, along with Stovehouse. If you are looking for some more south Huntsville friendly options, Downtown Huntsville and The Shop at Merchants Walks are two places that you can also visit and charge your EV at the same time.
