HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Halloween is approaching and there are plenty family friendly events happening this month. We have a list below of some that are taking place across the Tennessee Valley.
Clift Farm Fall Festival- Takes place on Oct. 14 from 11:00AM – 6:00PM Some of the things you can enjoy include classic games, face painting, and even a petting zoo. This event is free to attend.
Lake City Fall Fest (Guntersville)- From Oct. 13- 14 from 10AM-8PM you can enjoy the Witches and Wizards ride and vendors in downtown Guntersville. More info here.
Scottsboro BBQ Festival- Happening from 9AM-6PM on Oct. 14 you can enjoy barbecue, backyard contest, cornhole, dog Show, and kids Activities. General admission is free for more information you can visit here.
MidCity Monster Mash- From October 13 – October 31 MidCity partners with The Camp. Things to do include costume contests, karaoke, Halloween-themed food, and live music every weekend. This pop-up event is free to attend.
Movies in the Park- Big Spring Park will have themed entertainment before a movie showing starting on Oct. 13. Music will be played between 5-6PM with a movie starting at sunset.

Chalktoberfest- The 4th annual chalk art festival is on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 11AM – 2PM. The event will be located around the Belk Courtyard and throughout Bridge Street. There will be live music, face painting and more.
Lowe Mill trick or treat- Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment will be giving out candy and treats on every floor on Saturday, Oct 28.
Huntsville Police Department and Parks & Rec Halloween Party- On Oct. 28 from 4 - 6PM there will be bounce houses, games, and a trunk or treat for kids to enjoy at the Orion Amphitheater. After 6PM the haunted house will open up until 9:30PM. Parking will free and there will be food trucks and a vendor market.
Trunk or Treat at Stars and Strikes- Monday Oct. 30, from 5 - 8PM at the Stars and Strikes Huntsville parking lot for an evening of family fun!

Canebrake Witches Rid (Athens)- Sunday, Oct. 22 the witches fly at 3PM and toss candy to families gathered at designated Candy Zones. This event will have a variety of food trucks, pop-up shops, photo booth & more.
Howl-O-Ween Trunk ‘R Treat- Happening at the Huntsville Animal Services on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10AM - Noon. The event will feature games, local vendors, candy and a chance to bring home a fur-ever friend. Some adoptions fees will be waived for more information go here.
Downtown Madison trunk or treat- The City of Madison and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5162 will have a free event on Main Street in downtown Madison on Oct. 31 from 5:30 - 7PM. The event will feature a Halloween costume contest, blood drive, and downtown shopping. Free shuttle service will run from Madison City Stadium to downtown.
Pawloween trunk-or-treat event: The fourth annual event will be Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10AM - noon on Wood Avenue in Seven Points. This event will be sponsored by the Town and Gown Task Force on behalf of the City of Florence and the University of North Alabama. If there is inclement weather then the event will be moved to the banquet halls of the Guillot University Center on the UNA campus.
Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) community trunk or treat- On Monday, October 23, there ill be a drive-through trunk or treat on the Phil Campbell campus from 5 - 7PM. On Thursday, October 26, NWSCC will host a trunk or treat on the Shoals campus from 5 – 7PM. For more information you can go to their website.
BOOtanica, Huntsville Botanical Garden Halloween event- From 10AM - noon on October 21 and 28 at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. This event is recommended for little ages 2-10 and adults. Featuring a Monster Mash DJ dance party, refreshments, games, crafts, coloring, a scavenger hunt in the Garden, a costume parade, and candy.
Fall Festival at Toyota Field- On Saturday, October 28 the Rocket City Trash Pandas will be hosting a Fall Festival at Toyota Field. Trick-or-treating will be on the Bill Penney Toyota Concourse and the Toyota Outfield Experience will take place from 5-7PM. A screening of The Haunted Mansion will begin at 7:15PM. If purchased online in advance of the event, tickets are $10. On October 28, tickets will be available for $15. Parking at Toyota Field is free and will be available on the gravel parking lot. Paws and Poses: Puppy Yoga for a Purpose- The Hogan Family YMCA in Madison is having an event that combines yoga practice with playful puppies. Bring your yoga mat, invite your friends and family, and prepare for an hour of relaxation, and furry snuggles with adoptable pups. It happens on Saturday, October 28 at 9:45AM at the Hogan Family YMCA, Back Patio. All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the community through the YMCA Annual Giving Campaign, a program that bridges the gaps in community needs.
