HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Administrators at Lee/New Century High School said earlier today that a student was found with a weapon at the school.
In a statement, the school said:
A student was discovered to be in possession of a firearm on campus today. The weapon was immediately confiscated, and the matter was quickly addressed.
Bringing weapons to school comes with serious consequences, and the student will face disciplinary action in accordance with the district’s Behavioral Learning Guide (BLG).
We thank our HCS Security team and school resource officers for their fast response. We ask families for their support in ensuring students are unable to access weapons of any kind, and please report any suspicious or unusual activity to a teacher or administrator.
