HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville International Airport has resumed flight operations after a global technology outage grounded flights for several hours. Major airlines in the U.S. and around the world, including United, American, Delta, and Allegiant, were affected by the outage, which impacted Windows-based systems.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported around 12:45 a.m. Central on Friday that the airlines had been grounded due to the outage. However, airlines began to announce Friday morning that service was gradually resuming.
Passengers traveling through Huntsville International Airport are advised to check directly with their airlines for any delays or cancellations. It is recommended to monitor airline communications through websites, mobile apps, and emails for the latest updates.
To accommodate potential delays at check-in and longer TSA lines, officials urge travelers to arrive at least 90 minutes before their scheduled departure time.
