FLORENCE, Ala. — The Florence City Council is looking to fill an open position in District 2 following the retirement of council president Dick Jordan on Tuesday. Jordan announced his retirement during a recent council meeting after receiving a letter from his fellow council members.
City officials praised Jordan for his dedicated service and deep affection for Florence during his tenure. Resumes for the District 2 position are being accepted by Florence’s City Clerk’s Office until July 12.
