Florence City Schools pushes back start date

This aims to give teachers more time to prepare for the fall semester.

FLORENCE, Ala. — Florence City Schools has a new start date for the upcoming school year.

The start date has been pushed back to August 20.

The decision was made at yesterday's board of education meeting.

The reason is to give teachers extra time to prepare for the fall semester with all of the current coronavirus concerns.
