Huntsville capital murder suspect captured in Texas

Travis Blackburn, 42, was wanted in connection with the fatal Dec. 11 shooting of 31-year-old Jacobley Moore.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Police confirmed a capital murder suspect has been apprehended in Central Texas. 42-year-old Travis Blackburn had been named as a suspect in a fatal shooting that happened in mid-December.

Travis Blackburn was apprehended near Austin, Texas on Wednesday by U.S. Marshals as well as the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. He was booked in the Williamson County Jail and will be extradited to Huntsville at a later date, Huntsville Police said.

Blackburn was sought as a suspect following a shooting that happened around 2 a.m. on December 11. According to police, investigators found a man, later identified as 31 year old Jacobley Moore, wounded following a shooting on Fairview Farm Way.

Moore was taken to a nearby hospital and later died of his injuries.
