HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Get ready, get set, get to the new Food City in Owens Cross Roads. It's the first Food City in the Huntsville area, and it has some fun goodies for shoppers who come for the grand opening tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 30).
The first 200 customers on opening day will receive a commemorative coin that can be redeemed for a $35 Food City Gift Card to be used on opening day. They can also get a free sausage biscuit and coffee.

According to a news release from Food City, the location includes an in-store bakery and deli, complete with a hot food bar, large café seating area, fireplace, Asian wok, fresh food bar offering a variety of soup, salad and fruit selections, hickory wood smoker, brick pizza oven, and fresh sushi. Full-service meat and seafood departments offer top-quality meats, Certified Angus Beef, and in-house butchers to hand cut steaks and fresh meat to order. Expanded grocery, frozen food and produce departments go well beyond the normal fare with a huge selection of specialty, gourmet, and vegan items.
Also, it says the Food City Floral Boutique, staffed with a designer seven days a week offers a full assortment of fresh-cut floral arrangements, bouquets, gift items, and more. Rapid checkout service is provided by seven traditional check-out lanes and eight self-checkouts. Curbside pick-up and home delivery are available for customers wishing to shop on-line. The store also includes a Food City Pharmacy, Food City Gas N’ Go featuring top quality fuel/diesel, and a Starbucks cafe, offering a wide assortment of blended hot/cold coffees and beverages.
