Fort Payne Food City set to open in August

Fort Payne is set to get a 54,000 sq. ft. Food City on Gault Avenue South on August 7.

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A new Food City is set to open on August 7 on Gault Avenue South in Fort Payne, AL, marking the company’s third location in Alabama.

“We are excited to be joining the Fort Payne retail community. We look forward to serving the residents of Fort Payne and DeKalb County,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.

The store will feature an in-store bakery, deli with a hot food bar, large café seating area, fireplace, Asian wok, fresh food bar offering soups, salads, and fruits, hickory wood smoker, brick pizza oven, and fresh sushi. Full-service meat and seafood departments offer pre-marinated oven-ready products, meats, Certified Angus Beef, and in-house butchers for custom cuts. Expanded grocery, frozen food, and produce departments include specialty, gourmet, and vegan items.

The Food City Floral Boutique will offer floral arrangements, bouquets, and gift items. The location will also feature a Food City Pharmacy, Gas N’ Go station, and Starbucks cafe.  

“Our customers can expect to find exceptional customer service and top-quality products at the lowest possible prices, along with great variety/selection and some exciting new services,” says Smith.
