HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — UPDATE: All classes at Alabama A&M will be electronic or online starting Monday, April 16, and will continue through the end of the spring semester.
Spring break will continue as planned the week of March 30 through April 2. Classes will resume online Monday, April 6.
Starting Wednesday, March 18, will continue operations using alternate work arrangements and essential personnel only.
The University says students who live on campus should begin moving out of campus dorms as soon as possible, and must be completely moved out by March 20. Students will need to completely check out of the dorms, and essentially take all of their belongings with them.
Dining facilities, libraries, residence halls, and Normal Hills will be closed March 20 until further notice.
All Greek organization and registered student organizations events and activities have been canceled, effective immediately.

Four individuals from Alabama A&M University are self-isolating after they attended a national conference where an attendee tested positive for COVID-19.
While no Alabama A&M attendees came into contact with the individual who tested positive for coronavirus, nor have they experienced symptoms, the University and individuals made the decision for them to self-isolate for fourteen days.
There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State of Alabama.
The University is taking precautionary steps in the event that a confirmed case arises within the state. On Thursday, March 12, the University held an exercise to ensure classes could be taught electronically or online, including ones that take place in a traditional classroom setting. At this time, residential or traditional classroom classes will resume as scheduled on Friday, March 13.
In the coming weeks, the University will be testing daily operations in preparation for a potential outbreak, including remote workdays.
All institutionally-sponsored international travel has been banned, and the University has also limited non-essential domestic travel on a case-by-case basis. The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), of which Alabama A&M is member of, has canceled their tournament for March 13-14 in Birmingham, and has also suspended all athletic competition through March 31.
At this time, all University employees are still expected to continue their daily roles and responsibilities. All non-athletic events are still scheduled to take place; however, the University is restricting Spring Week events to students only, which includes the concert.
The University says that "this is a fluid situation and changes could take place rapidly."
