HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Get ready to lace up your running shoes! The Huntsville Botanical Garden is inviting runners and walkers of all ages to register for its Galaxy of Lights 5K Race and 3K Fun Run, scheduled for December 2 and 3.
On December 2, the timed 5K race will take participants on a 3.1-mile journey through the stunning Galaxy of Lights trail, featuring beautiful holiday displays. The race begins at 6 p.m. with staggered start times for two waves of runners.
The Huntsville Botanical Garden wants to remind participants that pets, strollers, headphones, and unregistered individuals are not permitted on the course. Each runner will receive a commemorative T-shirt for their efforts, with registration set at $35.
The following evening, December 3, features the 3K Fun Run/Walk, a 1.8-mile route that also showcases the enchanting light displays. Kicking off at 6:30 p.m., this non-timed event promises holiday music and prizes for participants.
Registration fees are $25 for ages 11 and up and $15 for children ages 3 to 10. While pets and headphones are not allowed, strollers are welcome, and unregistered children under 3 can join in, though they won't receive a T-shirt.
