HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Cummings Research Park is welcoming a new mixed-use development known as, "Arcadia."
Developers hosted their official groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction.
Joey Azar, a developer for "Arcadia" and a co-founder of Boaz Ventures, said "you can see the dirt work and it's going to be a big building that's going to take up this entire site."
On the corner of Bradford and Wynn drives, will sit the mixed-use development.
"It'll have executive high level-end finishes within the apartments and over 250 apartments with some commercial on the ground floor out at the corner. It'll be a six story building, which we're pretty excited about," Azar said.
Developers say being on a busy corner surrounded by many tech and defense companies will make it easier for people to get to their jobs.
Arcadia will provide 250 new residences all while being able to utilize the retail and commercial space.
"You can live close to the job center in north Alabama, close to Redstone Arsenal and we hope to create with what we already have as our neighbors in the cyber school and Redstone and all of the employers around us a new mixed-use live, work, play node,"
"Huntsville couldn't be more accurately described then as the city of the future. My team and I are excited to be a part of this change. We're excited to deliver the next generation of mixed use experiences in the heart of Cummings Research Park," said James Bobo with Bobo Family Group.
The developers are made up of Alabama-based companies and they are projecting to be finished with the project by late 2024.
