No injuries reported following Northwest Huntsville shooting: Police

Police responded to a shots fired call around 3:45 p.m. Sunday in the area of Pulaski Pike and Carmichael Ave.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A large police presence Sunday afternoon was the result of a shooting that led to several juveniles being held for questioning, according to Huntsville Police. Officers were called to the area of Pulaski Pike and Carmichael Ave. around 3:45 p.m.

Officers told our reporter at the scene on nearby Niblick Ave, police were in the area on an unrelated incident and responded to shots fired by a group of young people in the area, which prompted additional officers to the scene. 

It is unclear how many people were detained in all.

No one was injured in the shooting, and police stressed they do not believe shots were fired at officers at any time.

An investigation remains underway, and no arrests have been announced as of Sunday evening.
