Happenings in North Alabama the weekend of May 3-5

This weekend offers a diverse array of events including the Third Annual East Limestone Band Car Show, MadFest, and Fitness in the Park!

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — This weekend has some events to keep in mind! 

Third annual East Limestone Band Car Show - Happening on May 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., this event will take place at the East Limestone High School north parking lot. Spectator admission is free, but there is a $20 fee to enter a car in the car show.

MadFest -  Organized by local high school students, this event will happen on May 4 at Madison City Stadium. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., people can enjoy hot air balloon rides, electric train journeys, inflatable fun, delectable food from various food trucks, and local vendors. Admission is free!

Fitness in the Park - Starting on May 4 at Big Spring Park, there will be a special event: Family Boot Camp with Burn Boot Camp. It kicks off at 10 a.m. and is part of the Mayor’s Bike Ride and Block Party. These free workouts, led by instructors  are scheduled every Saturday from May 4 to June 29.

Fido Fest -  This Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Belk courtyard, sponsored by Bridge Street and local partners. The event supports the Greater Huntsville Humane Society (GHHS) and features live music, photo-ops, food, pet-friendly vendors, and splash zones for dogs. Admission is free! 

Celtic Slow Music Session - Featuring a variety of tunes, every 1 Sunday of the month from 2-4 p.m. at the South Huntsville Public Library.

Huntsville Babypalooza Baby Expo - Expectant and new parents, the 2024 Huntsville Babypalooza Baby Expo is on May 4. It’s a free event packed with expert-led seminars covering everything from car seat safety to postpartum care, plus opportunities to connect with local resources. A citywide baby shower will also feature games and chances to win prizes. Happening at the Von Braun Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Big Ol' Ballpark Fair - Happening at Toyota Field from April 25 to May 5! The fair has 30 rides, from kiddie coasters and mini-drops to grown-up thrill rides like giant spinners, swings, and the Zipper. For families, enjoy rides like ferris wheels, bumper cars, and moving mazes. Admission to the fair is $10 and includes shows. Rides, games, and food are extra.

Stella's Fourth Annual Kentucky Derby Watch Party - Door prizes and derby cocktails at 1 p.m. with live music all day at Stella's Elixir Lounge.
