Help available for artists affected by COVID-19 crisis

Emergency assistance is available for artists of all types affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Art Enthusiasts Encourage Art Awareness in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Performances and festivals canceled. Studios closed. Classes postponed. 

The things that are the lifeblood of local artists are off during the COVID-19 crisis amidst social distancing rules and stay-at-home orders.

The good news is that help is available.

Arts Huntsville published a list of some of the resources available to artists affected during this time.

Individual Artist Emergency Relief Grant Fund - Created by Arts Huntsville, this fund provides individual artists including musicians, visual artists, writers, dancers, theater artists, and more. with grants of $250 to $500 to cover immediate expenses. The fund was launched with $25,000 and is accepting community contributions to raise additional funds. One hundred percent of community contributions will be disbursed for Relief Fund grants. COVID-19 Artist Resources - This page included links to free webinars for artists to learn about how the CARES Act affects them, running an arts business during COVID-19, and more. It also has links to general arts resources as well as those specifically for musicians, actors, writers, visual artists, and arts organizations, and places where artists can find out how federal COVID-19 relief affects them.

Arts Huntsville will continue to add more resources as they become available.

Small arts businesses may also be eligible for funding through Neighborhood Concepts, Inc., a Huntsville non-profit offering low-interest emergency loans to small businesses affected by COVID-19.
