Want to help local teachers? Bridge Street Town Center hosts school supply drive for Free 2 Teach.

Free 2 Teach gives teachers in Madison County access to free supplies for their classrooms and students.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Back-to-schools is coming, and this means students and teachers will be looking to fill back-to-school shopping lists.

Free 2 Teach is a local organization that helps public school teachers in Madison County with their school supply shopping year round. From July 16-July 31, Bridge Street Town Center is collecting items for Free 2 Teach.

“We are thrilled to partner with Bridge Street,” says Alison Kling, Executive Director of Free 2 Teach. “The impact of Free 2 Teach is two-fold: we are able to support teachers and equip children. This July we will have 1,200 teachers shopping with us and will continue to host teacher shoppers throughout the year. Supply drives like this are critical for us to support the teachers and students we serve.”

The most needed items are Crayola markers, crayons and color pencils, composition notebooks, graph paper, student scissors, glue sticks and pencil boxes, but Free 2 Teach also offers office supplies, kleenex, books, and classroom decorations. You can drop off your donation at Athleta, J. Jill, Kendra Scott, Mountain High Outfitters, Orvis, Soma, Urban Cookhouse or the Bridge Street Management Office. You're invited to post a selfie with the donation bin using the hashtag #B2SwithBridgeStreet to be entered into a drawing to win a $250 gift card to one of the participating retailers.

“Bridge Street loves finding ways to give back to the community and education,” says Haley Buie, Marketing Manager of Bridge Street Town Centre. “We are excited to support our local teachers, through Free 2 Teach, as they prepare for the upcoming school year.”
