HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — In remembrance of September 11, 2001, the Huntsville Police Department, Huntsville Fire and Rescue, Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI), and Mayor Tommy Battle will hold a ceremony to honor the victims of the terror attacks.
The event will take place at HPD’s West Precinct/Fire Station 1, with observances also at all local fire stations.
A moment of silence will be observed, and emergency personnel will sound their sirens at approximately 7:46 a.m., marking the time the first World Trade Center tower was struck.
The ceremony is open to the public.
