HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Many people are cancelling trips due to coronavirus concerns, and it's affecting flight prices.
Because the cost of some flights are going down, a lot of people are are actually booking flights.
Travelers in Huntsville say they don't think it's necessary to stop flying even if you're worried about coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The Huntsville International Airport says they aren't necessarily dropping flight prices, but they are asking that people use their hand sanitizing stations and cover their cough when flying.
"If transportation stops in the country, it will halt the economy, and that's not a good thing for anybody in the United States of America," said Huntsville International Airport Public Relations Manager, Jana Kuner. "I would certainly not suggest that people not travel, and that's not a big business, we want your money kind of thing, that is a simple matter of economics."
The airport is encouraging people not to cancel their flights for business or for leisure. To limit contact with others, they suggest getting tickets on airline apps and avoiding the ticket counter in the airport.
