Big Spring Park to host movies on Fridays throughout October

The free, family-friendly Huntsville events will have food, vendors, and more.
The opening night, however, was slightly marred with the announcement that a live drone show had to be canceled.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The annual fall event Movies in the Park is back at Big Spring Park, hosted by Downtown Huntsville Inc. 

The event returns with a fall-flavored theme every Friday this month. Each event will start at 5 p.m., and will have live music, local food vendors, and activities throughout all of October. Movies in the Park is free for everyone to attend.

"Movies in the Park has become a fall tradition in Downtown Huntsville, and we are excited to partner with Meta and Buffalo Rock this year,” said Rob Buddo, President and CEO of Downtown Huntsville, Inc. “We encourage everyone to come out early, enjoy the food and entertainment, and settle in for a great evening in Big Spring Park.”

Guest are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets to the park if they are planning to attend the event. 

Movies are planned to begin at 6:30 p.m. 

This year's movie lineup is a mixture of animated, adventure, and comedic films: 

October 4th: Jurassic Park (1993) PG-13
Running time of 2 hours and 7 minutes. 

October 11th: Hocus Pocus (1993) PG
Running time of 1 hour and 36 minutes.

October 18th: Despicable Me 4 (2024) PG
Running time of 1 hour and 35 minutes.

October 25th: Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) PG-13
Running time of 2 hours and 4 minutes.
