HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville's Black Restaurant Week is back for its 9th year! This year will be a 13-day celebration of local Black businesses in the Rocket City. There are several events planned during the week. One of this year's event is the R&B Soul and Blues Picnic. This event will feature with local black owned restaurants, food trucks, vendors, and several musical local and high-profile artist in performances.
Each year, Black Restaurant Week hopes to help generate revenue, bring awareness and give support to Black locally-owned restaurants. People are encouraged to include everyone involved in the food industry, from tastemakers to restaurant owners, chefs, and patrons. Alongside delicious food and beverages, the week will feature educational and entertaining events focusing on topics such as licensing, marketing, and navigating the highs and lows of the food industry.
Black Restaurant Week aims not only to celebrate and promote Black-owned restaurants and chefs but also to spotlight and support the numerous small businesses in the Huntsville area and surrounding cities. This year's Black Restaurant Week will also be a Juneteenth celebration.
