HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville officials broke ground on The Park at Hays Farm on Tuesday.
Located at 801 Haysland Road, near Grissom High School, construction is expected to take about 14 months, with the park slated to open in fall 2025. Once completed, the park will feature a one-acre lake, waterfall, gazebo, and pavilion with restrooms.
“We’re excited to bring this fantastic park to the residents of south Huntsville,” Mayor Battle said. “This project is a great example of our commitment to enhancing quality of life throughout every corner of our city. Together, we are creating vibrant spaces for recreation and community connection that everyone can enjoy.”
The pavilion will be located near a historic windmill, relocated from the Hays family farm, serving as a symbol that ties the park to the farm's history.
In addition, a fitness court, developed in partnership with Arts Huntsville, will be available, along with walking paths that will connect to the city’s greenway network.
