HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — If you have any unused coats, Huntsville Parks & Recreation would love to take them off your hands as part of the Cozy Care Holiday Drive, an initiative in partnership with Christmas Charities Year Round.
From now through Dec. 9, community members are encouraged to donate clean and wearable coats, hats and gloves at any of Huntsville’s recreation centers during regular operating hours. All sizes are accepted.
Donation boxes will be conveniently located inside each center. Residents are kindly reminded to refrain from leaving items at the door or at other locations on the premises.
“While many of Huntsville's residents are blessed to have a warm coat on chilly days, many people, especially children, do not,” Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett said. “We appreciate the partnership with Christmas Charities Year Round, and we hope our citizens really deliver. It's amazing the impact a small gesture like a donated coat can have on someone's life.”
