HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Today the people have chosen!
Earlier this year, you voted for the new Huntsville Christmas Parade theme and today, Mayor Tommy Battle, alongside Santa and morning host of Mix 96.9 (WRSA-FM), announced the long-awaited theme: Christmas Through the Decades.
"This year’s theme will allow everyone to take a trip down memory lane and reexperience favorite holiday memories,” said Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle. “For our children, the parade continues an established Huntsville tradition where they can make new memories and celebrate the joys of the season."
The 9th annual Christmas parade will be held on Tuesday, December 5 and start on Clinton Avenue near the post office at 6:00 p.m.
You can expect to see over 80 floats, animals, and marching bands. From the roaring '20s to the rad '80s, you are sure to see a decade that brings back some special memories. This Huntsville holiday tradition is sure to not disappoint.
“We’re in the event business and host hundreds throughout the year, but the Huntsville Christmas Parade is one of our favorites,” said Samantha Nielsen, VBC Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “We’re thrilled to partner again with WRSA and bring this holiday tradition to the Huntsville community, and we look forward to seeing how participants interpret this exciting theme!”
Registration for the parade is now open and will close October 13th.
Mix 96.9 is encouraging those whose register to be as detailed as possible and to remember since the parade is at night lights MUST be part of your float.
