In Thursday evening's Huntsville City Schools Board of Education meeting the board passed the purchase of a bus cleaning contract with Apple Bus Company.

In the case of a positive COVID-19 case from a student on any bus, the bus will be taken offline and professionally disinfected immediately.

The buses are expected to be cleaned with 'Simply Green D-pro 5' at the end of each school day. The company will fog the buses every two weeks.

Someone reading a summary of the cleaning purchase during the board meeting says, “All interior high touch surfaces will be cleaned b between all transports of students who ride the bus during the school day.... The periodic cleaning will be preformed biweekly, fogging it with G-clean a self-sanitizing chemical that lasts up to 30 days.”

The school board says the cleanings will cost the district about $2,840 per school day.
