New exhibit focusing on Native American art to visit Huntsville Museum of Art

The exhibit will focus on glass works created by Indigenous people from across North America.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — While the Huntsville Museum of Art still is displaying "A Journey into Imagimation: Over 100 Years of Animation Art from Around the World" through this weekend, the museums next temporary exhibit has been announced. 

"Clearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass" will be the next exhibit to visit the Museum of Art, and will be running from October 25th to January 12th, 2025. However, you could have the chance to be able to get a sneak peek at the exhibit and speak with its curator. 

“We are truly honored to welcome Dr. Letitia Chambers and this extraordinary exhibition to Huntsville. Her knowledge and passion shine through every piece, and her presentation will offer visitors a rare chance to experience the beauty and significance of Native glass art. We are thrilled to present this exhibition, celebrating the artistic talents and cultural heritage of Native communities.” said Christopher Madkour, Executive Director of Huntsville Museum of Art.

On October 24th, guest will have the chance to listen to a presentation about the exhibit by curator Dr. Letitia Chambers. Chambers will be delivering her presentation, called "New Interpretations of American Indian Cultures in Glass Art". 

The event will start at 6 p.m., and tickets will be 40 dollars for members of the museum, and 65 dollars for the public. You can purchase tickets online on the Huntsville Museum of Art website. 

There will also be a reception for an hour after the presentation is done also. 

"A Journey into Imagimation: Over 100 Years of Animation Art from Around the World" will be running through September 29th if you still wish to visit this exhibit.
