Huntsville Music Office hosts quarterly meetup

This is an opportunity for local musicians and officials to connect with each other

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Huntsville Music Office hosted their quarterly meet up on Tuesday. It was held at St. Stephen's Music Hall, located at Campus No. 805.

The event was a big opportunity for local musicians to connect and collaborate with each other. Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella says, "It gives everybody a chance to connect with each other, it gives everybody a chance to connect with myself and members of the Music board And most importantly, it puts people in a creative community connecting with each other to spawn new ideas and keep the creative juices flowing in our Huntsville area."

The Microwave Dave Foundation was also at the event. They made a big announcement surrounding their 10th Microwave Dave Day event, which will be hosted at the Lumberyard on October 13th from 3-9PM.

Evan Billiter, President of the Microwave Dave Foundation, says, "Ten years ago, we started just wanting to do an event to thank Dave for his community efforts."

The South Star Music Festival is coming to North Alabama. It features a stacked lineup, with Gwen Stefani and Blink-182 headlining the event.

FOX54 talked to Matt Mandrella about the upcoming South Star Music Festival. "I can't believe it's only two months away, but it's going to be here before we know it," says Mandrella. He also says lots of information will be coming to the public really soon.

The South Star Music Festival is happening September 28-29 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, AL.
