HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The call for transparency with the Huntsville Police Department has been answered. The city currently has HPD's "Policy Written Directives" on its website.
This information was shared last Thursday during a Huntsville City Council meeting. It's one of the requests from several local groups, which includes to make standard operating procedures (SOP) available online.
Leaders said it's a push in the right direction since the requests were made six months ago.
"It's a bittersweet. But it's a step forward in the right direction. So we just have to keep moving and building upon that. I'm grateful and I'm looking forward to more progress as a matter of fact," said Citizens Coalition of Criminal Justice Reform Lead Liaison Angela Curry.
City officials said more written directives will be updated on the site every week.
