HPD's North Precinct hosts annual family fun night to close out summer

This free event offered activities for all ages, including food, games, and entertainment.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — As summer draws to a close, the Huntsville Police Department's North Precinct hosted a memorable Family Fun Night on Monday, inviting the community to join in for an evening of festivities.

"This event is something North Precinct looks forward to every year," Precinct Captain Tony McElyea said prior to the event. "Not only is there something for everyone to enjoy at this event, but this is also a chance for us to bond with our community in a fun and engaging atmosphere."

There was a variety of attractions including hamburgers grilled by HPD's Michael Tucker, and beverages. People were also able to enjoy treats from a snow cone truck, a bounce house, participate in outdoor games, and enjoy music.

Little ones worked up an appetite while having fun on the playground. For many of the kids, nothing quite hit the spot like a snow cone to cap off a hot and humid day.

HPD hopes this is the first of what they envision to be a monthly event. August's Family Fun Night details have yet to be announced.
