HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Transit is seeking part-time and full-time bus operators to join its team, offering a career with benefits and the chance to make a difference in the community.
The City’s public transportation network is expanding, and the department is looking for dedicated individuals, including former truck drivers, school bus drivers, veterans, and retirees, to help meet the growing demand for transit services.
“Our operators are the driving force of Huntsville Transit,” said Quisha Bryant, City Director of Parking & Public Transportation. “As our city grows, so does the demand for public transit. Having a fully staffed team of bus operators will allow us to expand service to meet that demand.”
Positions offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits—including medical, vision, and dental plans, as well as state retirement—and flexible schedules.
The City also offers full, agency-provided training to help new operators obtain the necessary Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to drive buses.
“You can start your career with Huntsville Transit as a part-time bus operator and receive CDL training while getting paid,” said John Autry, City Public Transit Manager. “We value our partnership with Calhoun Community College to offer this route for those interested in obtaining their license.”
