ATHENS, Ala. — Calling all foodies! The inaugural Downtown Athens Restaurant Week is coming! From August 13-27, several eateries are offering special menus and deals, and customers have the chance to win gift certificates to their favorite places.
Downtown Athens Restaurant Week Chair Devin Simmons encourages patrons to come and experience the uniqueness of Downtown Athens restaurants. "Come out and try an old favorite or try something new - there is so much to discover and so much to enjoy in downtown Athens."
Organizers say Downtown Athens Restaurant Week isn't just about delicious food; it's also a celebration of the local community and the hardworking chefs, restaurateurs, and staff who make dining in downtown Athens an unforgettable experience.
“We have great places to eat downtown, with more to come," said Athens Main Street Executive Director Tere Richardson. "Here’s your chance to taste what they have to offer, support local, and have a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.”
