What is trustee status?
Generally speaking, a trustee is an inmate that has either been sentenced to jail time or is awaiting sentencing for a non-violent crime that has proven themselves to be trustworthy. Trustees can sometimes be granted privileges and access to items general-population inmates may not, and are "entrusted" with certain tasks that other inmates may not, such as mowing grass, driving vehicles, or performing other errands.
