LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office will be changing its dispatch services starting December 2, 2024.

Beginning on that date, residents will no longer need to call the sheriff’s office directly for law enforcement assistance. Instead, all law enforcement-related calls will be routed through 911.

This change eliminates the previous two-step process, where 911 calls were transferred to the sheriff’s office for dispatch. By consolidating services under the 911 system, county officials aim to improve response times and enhance operational efficiency.
