MOULTON, Ala. — The Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) reported that 589 people were without power as the remnants of Hurricane Ida moved through North Alabama.
The majority of power was restored by 10 a.m. on August 31, according to a Tweet from the Lawrence County EMA.
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department responded to one call throughout the night about a fallen tree. There are no reported injuries.
"We weathered the storm real well, the only call we had, EMA and us, was a tree down in Florence," said Lawrence County Sheriff Max Sanders.
FOX 54's Aiyana Willoughby caught up with members of the community and asked about the status of their homes. One Moulton woman said her lights flickered, but she was fortunate enough to maintain power.
While the damage was minor in Moulton and throughout Lawrence County, there are still people across the state experiencing severe weather.
"Keep praying and God will be out there for y'all. God's with everybody and during these storms that's who we have to depend on," said community member Sarah Pryor.
